Family Situation Room Fictional example
Friday changed. Here’s the plan.

Sam has pickup.12:30 PM · Friday
J
Jo has the permission form.Return it by Friday.
Example on a tablet you already own. No device is included.
See what changed. Check your part of the plan.
In this fictional example, school finishes early on Friday. Sam has pickup. Open the school notice, then mark Jo’s permission form done in To-dos.
Supported calendar connections refresh read-only events. Adults still review changes, decide who handles each job and mark tasks complete. Children’s plans can be included; child accounts and guided routines are outside the initial offer.
Fictional sample data
The weather and plans are examples. The demo isn’t connected to any household accounts or live calendars.
Now try your household name and color
Your name and color choice stay in this browser. They aren't included in the email signup.
Check your calendars first.
These are the connections we’ve tested or are still validating. Required connections must pass a real check before we accept payment.
Google Calendar
Completing live connection checks before public access. The planned connection reads your primary calendar; edits to Google events stay in Google Calendar. Dashboard sign-in does not grant calendar access.
School calendar subscriptions
Supported public iCal feeds can update automatically. Availability depends on your school. An imported .ics file is a one-time copy and does not stay in sync.
Microsoft Outlook Calendar
Still being validated. Microsoft dashboard sign-in works in the pilot, but it does not establish a working calendar connection.
iCloud and Yahoo Calendar
No direct calendar connection is currently supported. Apple and Yahoo dashboard sign-in are separate from calendar syncing.
Signing in does not connect your calendar or inbox. Google, Microsoft, Apple and Yahoo dashboard sign-in have passed private-pilot checks. Reading a supported calendar or Gmail requires a separate permission grant. Employers and schools may block that access; a blocked required account does not pass compatibility.
Less to re-enter. Still your family’s decisions.
The dashboard brings the plan into view. Each adult can check it independently, take a task and keep the other informed.
Supported calendar connections refresh read-only plans. Add household events and assign shared tasks inside the dashboard. Someone still needs to accept pickup, update the plan when arrangements change and mark jobs done.
Review an invitation instead of typing it all again.
In the pilot, a photographed invitation becomes an event draft. An adult checks the date, time and place before saving. Saved form answers can be reused, but you review the completed form before sharing it.
Review first
The forecast updates without another account.
The pilot fetches the week’s weather and a short morning summary of the National Weather Service’s regional discussion. Conditions at your address can differ. You decide whether pickup needs a rain jacket or the outdoor plan needs changing.
Public access is still closed. These tools are being tested in a household. Evening debrief emails are part of the launch plan; delivery must be verified before paid access opens.
One price for the household.
The initial release is for up to two adults sharing one household. Each uses their own sign-in.
$29 for setup and your first year. Then $19/year per household.
Use your own compatible phone, tablet, or computer. No screen included.
Setup and 12 months of access
Your household space, up to two adult accounts, time zone and weather location, plus the supported calendar connections you approve. Hosting is included; you do not need a separate hosting or database subscription.
The launch bundle
Shared calendar views, household events, assigned to-dos, planning and preparation lists, invitation review, reusable form answers and regional weather. Evening debrief delivery is a launch requirement, not a working feature of this public demo.
Renewal you can plan for
After the first 12 months, the service renews automatically at $19/year per household. We send a reminder 30 days before renewal. Cancel before renewal to stop the next charge; access continues through your paid year.
For the adults coordinating home
Adults can include children’s appointments and responsibilities in household plans. The initial public offer does not include child logins, child-led routines, rewards or wearable health connections.
No payments or subscriptions can start here yet. Billing, cancellation, data-copy arrangements and the included features must be ready before checkout opens. Your device and internet service are supplied by you.

Is Family Situation Room a Skylight alternative?
Family Situation Room is a browser-based family organizer in development. You use your own devices; Skylight has a dedicated display and companion app. Our Skylight alternative comparison explains the differences. You can try the fictional demo, but public access isn't available to buy yet.
How does Family Situation Room compare as a Hearth alternative?
Hearth has a dedicated touchscreen and companion app. Family Situation Room runs in your browser on your own devices. Read the Hearth alternative comparison and try the sample to compare the layouts. The listed launch bundle is being validated before paid access opens.
Which calendars can connect?
For read-only primary Google Calendar access, we are completing live connection checks before public access. Supported public school iCal subscriptions and one-time .ics imports are available in the pilot. Outlook Calendar is still being validated; direct iCloud and Yahoo calendar connections are not supported. See the compatibility list. Work and school administrators may block required access.
Is calendar syncing the same as signing in?
No. Google, Microsoft, Apple and Yahoo can identify you for dashboard sign-in in the pilot. Reading a supported calendar or Gmail requires a separate connection and your permission. Signing in with Apple does not connect iCloud Calendar.
What does the $29 include?
Setup and your first 12 months of household access for up to two adults. The launch bundle includes the shared calendar, household events, assigned tasks, planning and preparation tools, invitation review, reusable form answers and regional weather, with evening debrief delivery required before launch. Hosting is included; there is no mandatory separate hosting or database subscription.
Is there a subscription?
Yes. After the included first year, continued service renews automatically at $19 per household annually. The first year is $29 including setup. Joining the interest list starts no subscription and costs nothing.
Is a screen included?
No. Use your own compatible phone, tablet or computer with a current browser and internet access. A shared wall display is optional. You supply any tablet, stand or mount, power and screen-sleep settings.
Is the price per person?
No. It is per household, with up to two adult accounts in the initial release. Children’s appointments can appear in household plans, but child logins, child-led routines and rewards are not included in the public launch offer.
How do renewal and cancellation work?
The paid service will renew at $19/year after your first 12 months, with an email reminder 30 days before renewal. Cancel before renewal to stop the next charge. Your access continues until the end of the year you have paid for. Checkout stays closed until billing and cancellation controls work.
What happens to my data if I leave?
Dashboard access ends when your paid year ends. You then have 30 days to request a copy of your household data at support@familysituationroom.com. After that window, household records are deleted from the live service. Secure export, deletion and documented backup-retention rules must be ready before checkout opens.
What happens to the demo name and color?
The household name and color choice stay in this browser. They don't go into the interest form, a URL, or a connected account.
